Pregnancy is an incredible journey, and a maternity shoot lets you pause and celebrate it before your baby arrives. We welcome families from Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland and across the North East to our Chester-le-Street studio.
Sessions are calm, relaxed and tailored to you, whether you love elegant fine art portraits or natural images with your partner and children. Every pose is gently guided, with flattering angles and soft light, so you feel at ease and look your best.
02 / When to book
The perfect timing
We recommend booking around your 20-week scan. The ideal time for the shoot itself is between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you still feel comfortable. Expecting twins? Come in a little earlier.
Planning newborn photos too? We can book both sessions together, and if your baby arrives early we can turn your maternity session into a newborn shoot.

Partners and children welcome
Family images are always welcome, so bring your partner and children along. If you love our winged photos, I have a small pair of wings for children too.
Not sure what to wear? Neutral tones, fitted dresses and flowing fabrics photograph beautifully, and we have dressing gowns and simple dresses you’re welcome to borrow. Your favourite jeans with a crop top look great too.

Your questions
What should I wear?
Neutral tones, fitted dresses and flowing fabrics photograph beautifully. We have dressing gowns and simple dresses you’re welcome to borrow. Your favourite jeans with a nice top, such as a crop top, look very stylish, and if you’d like some of our signature images, bring your favourite lingerie too.
Can my partner and children join?
Absolutely, family images are always welcome. If you love our winged photos, I also have a small pair of wings for children.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking around your 20-week scan. Sessions are usually photographed between 28 and 34 weeks, and you’ll know when feels best. I can often fit you in within a week or two, sometimes within days.
When will I see my images?
You’ll come back to the studio and see your images on the big screen, then choose your favourites for prints, wall art or albums.
What if my baby arrives early?
We can turn your session into a newborn shoot or reschedule where possible. Or come in for a family shoot a little later: the choice is yours.
I don’t feel confident. Will you help with posing?
Absolutely. Every session is gently guided, with flattering angles and soft lighting so you feel relaxed and look your best.
